I changed the original recipe from 15 squares to 9 squares and I also mixed the coconut INTO the brownies rather than sprinkling on top after baking.

Ingredients

    1/3 cup dark, unsweetened cocoa powder
    1/4 cup unsalted butter
    2 tbsp lite coconut milk
    2 1/2 tbsp agave OR 3 1/2 tbsp xylitol OR 3 1/2 tbsp liquid honey
    1 egg
    1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
    2 1/2 tbsp whole wheat flour
    1 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour a square baking pan.
In a small saucepan, heat cocoa, butter and coconut milk over low heat, until butter is melted. Remove from heat. Allow to cool, then whick in the egg.
Add flour, coconut and pecans. Mix just until blended. Pour into pan and smooth over the top.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out slightly moist.
Cut into squares.

Makes 9 LARGE SIZE brownies.
