Introduction

Vegan style french dip! This is my favorite sandwich ever. Vegan style french dip! This is my favorite sandwich ever.
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    Au Jus:
    1/4 c. vegetable broth, chicken flavored preferably
    1/2 tsp. miso paste
    1 tsp. soy sauce
    dash garlic powder
    dash oregano

    Sandwich:
    Trader Joes par-baked panini rolls
    4 slices hickory smoked Tofurkey
    1/4 of a medium sized avocado, mashed
    1/4 c. onions, sliced
    1 tsp. olive oil

Directions

Combine all the Au Jus ingredients to make the Au Jus.

Heat the oil in a cast iron or non stick skillet over medium heat. When the oil is hot add the onions. Stir often to make sure they don't burn. You want them good and caramelized. Meanwhile, toast the roll.

To assembles:
Spread the avocado onto the top of the toasted roll. On the bottom roll, place the tofurkey slices and the onions. Top with the avocadoed top roll, dip into the au jus and eat!

    Very Good
    I was excited when I saw that someone tackled this favorite of mine. I did double the au jus and fried onions and green peppers to put on top. I also heated the au jus with the tofurkey in the sauce to recreate the traditional dip. - 4/23/12
