Ingredients

2 and 1/2 pounds ground chuck
2 cups freshly made (not canned) breadcrumbs (process into fine crumbs in a food processor or blender; use old bread or packaged, unseasoned stuffing cubes)
    1/2 cup milk
    1/2 cup ketchup
1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix (dry)
    1 egg
    1/2 onion, chopped fine
2 big stalks celery, diced small
1/2 medium carrot, minced or chopped fine
    2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp. black pepper
    2 tsp. salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix all ingredients except crescent rolls. Shape into 10 loaves that are 6 ounces each. Place on a foil-lined (may spray lightly with cooking spray) roasting pan. Cover loosely with a sheet of foil sprayed with cooking spray. Bake for 15 minutes at 400; reduce the heat to 350 and bake 40 minutes longer.

Makes 10 6-oz. loaves. Freezes very well. (Bake 15 minutes at 400, then only 30 minutes at 350. Freeze. Thaw. Reheat 15 minutes at 400.)
