Ingredients
-
1 package ground turkey breast(12 oz)
spray of olive oil
1/2 c chopped green peppers
1/2 c chopped mushrooms
2 garlic cloves pressed
1 tsp oregano
2 tsp basil
1 28 oz. crushed tomatoes
sprinkle of red pepper flakes
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp romano cheese
2 c cooked spaghetti
Directions
Prepare spaghetti as directed. Keep warm.
Spray a large pan with olive oil(enough to not make the turkey stick). Add turkey to the pan, and start browning. Before turkey is cooked through, add vegetables and garlic. Season with oregano and basil. Continue cooking, until vegetables give off moisture, and there is a little bit of water in pan. Add crushed tomatoes and just a little bit of water to make it easier to stir. Add red pepper flakes to taste, a sprinkling of sugar to cut the acid, and the romano to add flavor. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Serve over 1/2 cup of spaghetti. No need to add salt...the cheese does the work naturally and fat free! Enjoy!
