Introduction

In attempts to make a healthier side dish, in comparison to the boxed or bagged kind, I came up with this recipe. My family loves them and yet they are really very simple. Do not be afraid of making the rue as it is quite easy. I make enough to have left overs as my husband thinks they taste even better the next day. Ingredients

    * Chicken Broth, 2 cup
    * Amish Kitchens Kluski Egg Noodles, 12 oz
    * Butter, salted, 2 tbsp
    * Flour, white, 2 tbsp

Directions

*Bring 2 quarts of water to boil. Cook noodles according to package directions.

*Over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp of butter
*Once butter is melted, stir in 2 tbsp of flour
*Stir this mixture often as you let it "cook" or turn golden. You are making a rue and your goal is to let the 2 ingredients meld together to form cooked paste. This will thicken the chicken broth and make a buttery chicken sauce.
*Pour in the 2 cups of chicken broth and whisk to incorporate the rue and the broth. Whisk / stir often till it boils and becomes thick.
*Add cooked and drained noodles to the sauce and stir.
