Introduction
This is a delicious recipe based on Alton Brown's. But with no oil and low sugar syrup the calorie count is much better. But a half a cup is the serving. Best used on yogurt or as a snack. Ingredients
-
3 c Rolled Oats
3/4 c Almonds, dry roasted, chopped
1/3 c Coconut - shredded, unsweetened
1 c Kellogg's All-Bran Buds Cereal
1 Tsp Cinnamon, ground
1/2 c Brown Sugar
3/4 c Log Cabin Lite syrup
1 tsp maple flavoring
Directions
Mix all the dry ingredients (first 6) together in a bowl. Mix all the wet ingredients in a separate bowl. Mix the dry and wet together completely. Pour out onto two baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 1/4 hour, stirring ever 15 minutes. Cool before storing.
You can add dried fruit after cooling if desired. For chunkier-style granola, only stir during the first 1/2 hour. Let cool before stirring again. Break up into desired size pieces.
I measured after cooking and got 8 cups. You may get more or less depending on how chunky you make yours.
