Number of Servings: 8


    1 1/2 pounds extra lean ground beef
    1 cup dry bread crumbs
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    1/2 cup egg substitute
    1 teaspoon minced onion, instant
    1 can tomato sauce, unsalted (14 ounce or 16 ounce)
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    2 tablespoons vinegar
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 teaspoons prepared mustard


Mix together first five ingredients. Add onion and HALF of the tomato sauce. Form into a loaf and place in 9x5x3 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.

Meanwhile, combine the remaining ingredients (including leftover tomato sauce) into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour over the meat loaf after 50 minutes. Bake the meat loaf ten more minutes. Serves 8.
