Number of Servings: 12


    2 lb Ground beef, extra lean
    2 cup Green Peppers (bell peppers), chopped
    2 c sweet red Peppers, chopped
    1- 1/2 c coarsly chopped Onions
    2 c sliced fresh Mushrooms
    1- 1/2 c Ketchup
    1/2 c Vinegar
    1/2 c Brown Sugar
    2- 1/2 c Water
    Spices (to taste):
    -crushed dried hot red peppers
    -garlic powder (add to meatballs while frying)


Mix ketchup, water, sugar, vinegar and spices in crock pot, start on "high". (Or place in casserole in oven at 375)

Form beef into small meatballs (they cook faster) and cook (fry) thoroughly before adding them to the liquid.

If desired, saute vegetables in the same pan to soften them before adding to the liquid.

Season as desired.

Cook for at least one hour before serving. If using oven, remove lid and stir often to thicken sauce near the end.

Makes approximately 12- 1 cup servings.

Good with any starch- potatoes, noodles, rice.
