Great Easy Meatloaf or meatballs Great Easy Meatloaf or meatballs
Number of Servings: 10

    1 1/2 lbs Ground Beef
    1 1/2 lbs Ground Turkey
1 box Stove top stuffing (Chicken or Savory Herb)
1 C water or broth (veggie or chicken is fine)
    1/3 C Milk
    1 Lg or Jumbo Egg
    2 Tbs. Mustard
    3 Tbs Ketchup
    2 Tbs. W sauce
    1/4 C dehydrated minced onions
2 tsp Paul Dean's seasoning (2 parts salt, 1 part pepper, 1 part garlic powder)

Take the Stove Top and dehydrated onions and put in a bowl.  Mix in Water and milk and stir with fork to fluff and absorb moisture a bit.  (use a bit more if still really dry but you don't want it sopping wet - just moist)  Put hamburger in bowl and combine remaining ingredients.  Add half of stove top and combine, then add remaining and mix well with hands.  Form with hands in bowl into log.  You can then split into two meatloaves and put into 2 meatloaf pans or just leave as a huge long and low loaf into a big baking dish.

After placing in whatever dish poke 3 to 4 holes in top of meatloaf.  About one knuckles worth deep.  Fill holes with Ketchup and spread thin loayer all over top. After half way thru baking time re-coat top with another layer of ketchup if desired.  Bake at 350 degrees for 90 minutes if for all 3 lbs. about 60 minutes for 1 1/2 lbs loaves.

-You can make the ketchup mixture on top half and half ketchup and bbq sauce, really good too..and replace ketchup in meatloaf to bbq.
-If you don't use the stove top stuffing,  then substitute a 3/4 to one whole tube of crackers crushed of course.  Then you would need to add more onion, at least one 1 tsp of sage.  I don't think this way has near as much flavor, the stove top adds a lot you just can't replace easily, thats why I made the switch to it.
-You can also change to 1/8 C dehydrated minced onions and one fresh small onion diced.
-This recipe will work for up to 4 lbs of hamburger without changing the amounts of the other ingredients.  You can also use half hamburger and half ground turkey.  You will never taste the difference and cut the fat.
-You can also take half meatloaf and half meatballs at the same time.  (Great for spaghetti or beef gravy and noodles.)

Paul Deans can be made in any amount, the preportions are 2 parts salt, 1 part pepper, 1 part garlic powder.  We use it all the time, just keep a salt shaker full of it and use it for cooking.  So the break down for the recipe above is 1tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1/2 tsp garlic powder.
