Introduction
Thin strips of zucchini double your portion size with little taste difference and very few calories Thin strips of zucchini double your portion size with little taste difference and very few caloriesNumber of Servings: 4
Ingredients
-
93 percent lean ground turkey
zucchini, sliced with a potato grater into thin ribbons
angel hair pasta
parmesan cheese (optional)
Hunts canned spaghetti sauce any flavor
Directions
brown turkey, drain excess fat
add spaghetti sauce and cook for 10 minutes
using a potato peeler, cut thin ribbons of zucchini and place in microwave safe dish. cook for about 3 minutes. drain and use paper towel to get rid of excess water.
cook spaghetti, drain
add cooked spaghetti to zucchini and toss. top with spaghetti sauce and parmesan cheese and serve!
I made the serving size 4 to get a calorie/fat count but I'm sure you could make it go farther -maybe 6 depending on how much sauce you like.
Can also double the sauce - 2 cans to make this go farther.
Hint: if you peel the zucchini first and then make into ribbons, you might be able to get it past the kids!
