Introduction

This was my first attempt at creating cabbage soup. I didn't have a recipe that I followed and winged it. It turned out really good- a little on the spicy side which I liked a lot. Ingredients

    1- head of cabbage
    3- tbs of black pepper
    3- garlic cloves
    1- tbs of olive oil
    1- large can of tomato juice
    1- can of stewed tomatoes
    3- basil leaves (if desired)

Directions

Heat olive oil in a large pot and add garlic. Sautee the chopped garlic in the hot oil. Add stewed tomatoes and warm. Add cabbage (that has been chopped or julienne). Add tomato juice, pepper, and chopped basil leaves and simmer for about an hour.

Serve hot
