Introduction

Don't like oatmeal because it's gooey? This oatmeal is steamed so that the oats don't get gooey. A simple and delicious way to start your morning. And just as fast as instant oatmeal packets. Ingredients

    Water - 1/2 cup
    Oats - 1/2 cup

Directions

Put cup oatmeal in a microwaveable cereal bowl. Pour cup water on top of oats; do not stir. Microwave on high for 1 min. 30 sec. Important: Do not stir the oatmeal. Let it rest for 1 minute after cooking so that the oats can absorb the water. Stirring will make your oatmeal gooey!

If you want other flavors/additions, here are some suggestions:

You can mix in any of the following ingredients with your oats before you add the water to your oatmeal. Cook as instructed above.
1/4 Cup - Raisins (adds 109 Cal.)
1/8 Cup - Walnuts (adds 104 Cal.)
1/4 Cup - Dried Apples (adds 55 Cal.)
1/8 Cup - Dried Apricots (adds 41 Cal.)
1/2 Tsp. - Cinnamon (adds 3 Cal.)
Note: When make your oatmeal; make sure you use equal parts of water to oatmeal. So if you want more or less, just make the water and oatmeal equal.

Toppings to add after your oatmeal is cooked:

1/8 cup - Chocolate Chips (adds 108 Cal.)
1 Tsp. - Sugar (adds 16 Cal.)
2 Tsp. - Brown Sugar (adds 23 Cal.)
