Introduction
A very quick, easy spin on guacamole. A very quick, easy spin on guacamole.Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients
-
1 Hass Avocado, pitted and diced (large dice)
1 large tomato, diced (large dice)
1 tbsp. lemon or lime juice
2 tsp. ground black pepper
1 tbsp. dried cilantro
A few dashes of Tobasco sauce
Directions
Cut avocado in half; remove pit. Run a knife through the flesh to create a large dice, scoop flesh out in to a bowl.
Cut the tomato in to a large dice, add to avocado.
Add splash of lemon juice - enough to keep the avocados from turning brown and to bind the ingredients together a bit, but not so much that you've got a lot of excess liquid.
Add the black pepper, cilantro, and Tobasco sauce, adjusted to your taste. Mix gently, just to combine. Serve with tortilla chips, whole wheat crackers, or as a topping for sandwiches, etc. Makes 4 servings.
This is just a very quick take on traditional guacamole that I devised - same general flavors happening, but using ingredients you probably have on hand most of the time. Plus, using the hot sauce saves you the time (and irritation) of seeding & dicing a jalapeno.
