    1/2 lb green beans prepped and left whole
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 tomato, chopped coarsely
    1 tsp olive oil
    1 Tbsp fresh oregano, chopped (or 1/2 tsp dry)
    1/3 tsp kosher salt
    black pepper to taste
    water or vegetable broth as necessary


In a heavy skillet, saute beans in the oil for about 5 minutes over a medium flame, stirring often to prevent burning.

Add minced garlic and chopped tomato oregano, salt and pepper, stir, lower heat to simmer and cover. Add water or broth to prevent sticking.

Cook over very low heat for about 45 minutes to an hour until beans are very tender.
