    1 cup brown lentils
    4 cups chicken broth
    3 cups water
    2 onions, finely chopped
    2 tablespoons oil
    Salt, to taste


1. Wash lentils until water runs clear.
2. Boil lentils in water until soft
3. Put lentils in a blender and blend until mushy.
4. Add the mushy lentils in a pot with the chicken broth and water and bring to a boil, lower heat and gently simmer. Add salt.
5. Meanwhile in another pan, add oil and fry onions until a dark brown color.
6. Add onions in the pot of lentils, mix and simmer until thickened. About an hour.
7. makes about 5 one cup servings.
