    2 1/2 C cooked lean ham, cubed
    6 cans of Great Northern Beans
    1 can of Black Beans
    3 T spoons of Liquid Smoke (Hickory)
    2 large onions, chopped
    2 T vegetable oil
    Pepper and Salt to taste.


1. Brown onion in oil in bottom of a 5 quart dutch oven or crock pot.
2. Add the ham and continue to brown
3. Add the canned beans.
4. Add 1/2 the liquid smoke.
5. Add the pepper.
6. Bring just to a boil, then reduce heat till barely simmering.
7. Continue to simmer for about 3 hours, till beans start to break down.
8, Add the rest of the liquid smoke in last 15 minutes of cooking.

Makes 16 1 cup servings.
