One of my favourites that mom used to make. Major comfort food! One of my favourites that mom used to make. Major comfort food!
Number of Servings: 12


    1 cup butter or margarine
    2 cups flour
    1 cup sugar
    2 tsp baking powder
    1 egg


    1 heaping cup raisins
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1 1/2 tsp flour
    2/3 cup water


Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder then cut in margarine/butter. Beat egg and mix in with fork.

Cook filling about 5 minutes in small saucepan. Spread most of the pastry in greased pan 9" x 12" (I can't get it evenly spread out so I use the 9" x 9", the bottom is thicker but it still tastes good, I think. It might take a bit longer to cook though.) Spread filling over pastry base, sprinkle remaining pastry on top. Bake at 350F or until golden brown, about 30 minutes.
