Introduction

Adapted from a traditional Pennsylvania Dutch dish. Works as a special breakfast or as a rustic dessert. Top with a dollop of yogurt of low/no fat sour cream. Ingredients

    3 cups rolled oats
    cup Splenda Brown Sugar Blend
    2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 cup milk
    2 eggs
    cup melted low fat margarine or your favorite butter substitute
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    2 medium apples, cored and diced

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350F

2. Combine oats, Splenda blend, cinnamon, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl and mix well.

3. Beat together milk, eggs, melted margarine, and vanilla extract.

4 Combine wet and dry ingredients, and stir to blend. Add diced apples and stir to distribute them through the batter.

5.Pour batter into lightly greased 9x13" baking pan. Bake 40 minutes. Can be served hot or cold. Serves 8 as breakfaste, 12-16 as a dessert.
