Ingredients

    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1/2 tablespoon baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 salt
    1/4 cup margarine
    .6 cup buttermilk

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

In a large bowl combine all dry ingredients. Cut in margarine using blender, your fingers or 2 knives until it resembles coarse meal.

Us a fork to stir in buttermilk until the mixture forms a rough ball.

On a lightly floured surface, gently knead the dough 5-8 times. Roll the dough out to a 1/2 inch thick circle. I used a 2 1/2 biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits. (makes about 17)

Place biscuits about 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake until lightly browned 6-8 minutes.
