Introduction

A traditional scottish dish. A traditional scottish dish.

Ingredients

    2 lbs Potatoes
    1 head Savoy Cabbage, shredded
    4 oz butter
    1 cup green onions, chopped
    7 oz whole milk
    nutmeg (for garnish)
    salt & pepper to taste

Directions

Boil the potatoes. Drain and add milk, onions and butter. Mash ingredients finely then set aside. Place cabbage in a large pot along with 4 cups of boiling water. Bring back to a boil and let steam for 10 minutes. Use tongs to pull cabbage leaves from top to bottom every few minutes for even cooking. Drain cabbage when tender. Mix the cabbage and the mashed potato mixture together and pour into a medium serving dish. Sprinkle with nutmeg and enjoy.
