Introduction

Ingredients

    11/2 lbs boneless beef round steak (trimmed and cut into 4)
    1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    1 tsp black pepper
    1 tbsp olive oil
    1 can cream of mushroom soup (10 3/4 oz)
    3/4 cup water
    1 medium onion, quartered
    6 mushrooms, sliced
    2 tbsp onion soup mix (dry)
    1 bay leaf
    pinch ground sage
    pinch ground thyme

Directions

Makes 4 servings

1. Place steak in a plastic bag. Pound it if you want, to tenderize. Put flour and black pepper in bag and shake it up so the meat is coated.

2. Heat oil in skillet. Put steak in skillet and brown both sides. Transfer steak to Crock Pot.

3. (optional) Put onions and mushrooms in same skillet and fry until half done. Add a tsp or two of water if necessary. Pour on top of steak in the Crock Pot.

4. Add canned soup, water, milk, dry soup, bay leaf and seasonings to Crock Pot. Mix well.

5. Cook on LOW 5 - 6 1/2 hours. Remove bay leaf before serving.
