    1 lb 85% lean ground beef
    1 can tomato sauce
    1 can mild chili beans
    1 can dark red kidney beans
    1 TBSP chili powder
    1 cup water
    1/2 tsp oregano and basil
    1 tsp sugar
    2 tsp cinnamon
    garlic and onion powder to taste


Brown meat with onion powder and garlic to taste, put it all in a pot and simmer for 30 minutes.

Serving size is 1 cup (You can be generous. It's actually just slightly more than 1 cup)

  • We all loved this! I made a few adjustments, as follows: Firstly, I used dried pinto beans instead of canned beans, and added a can of tomato soup. I also added 1 tsp of salt, which I felt the recipe really needed. I only used 1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. Definitely a meal I would make again! Thanks! - 11/19/08
