Ingredients

    6 medium green tomatoes, sliced 1/2 in. thick
    1 c. fat free shredded cheddar cheese
    1 medium onion, thinly sliced
    French fried onions
    Salt substitute and black pepper to taste

Directions

Makes 6 3/4 c. servings

Slice tomatoes crosswise, remove cores, then slice halves 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick. Put half in single layer in baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Slice onion thinly and lay on top; then add 1/2 c. of the cheese. Repeat the tomato and cheese layer. Top with french fried onions.

Bake covered in 400 degree oven for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes more.
