    8 oz uncooked penne pasta
    1.5 C broccoli florets
    Cooking spray
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 28-ounce cans crushed tomatoes
    1 t. dried basil leaves
    1 t. sugar
    1/2 t. salt
    Parmesan cheese (optional, not included in nutritional info)


Cook penne as directed on package, adding broccoli during last 4 minutes of cooking time.

Meanwhile, spray large skillet with cooking spray and add garlic; cook and stir 2-3 minutes. Stir in tomatoes and remaining ingredients. Simmer 15-20 minutes, or until thickened, stirring occasionally.

Drain penne and broccoli; arrange on serving platter or large bowl. Spoon sauce over top. If desired, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
