Introduction

Apple Juice was too harsh on my throat postop, and most of the juicer recipes use apples or carrots as a sweetner, so we shifted this recipe for alcheline green juice by replacing carrots with a pear. Ingredients

a couple medium apples, a pear, and 2 stalks celery

Directions

Remove the apple stems and slice and core the apples but leave the skin on them (I find using an apple slicer does this wonderfully) toss them and a pear similarly sliced, cored and with no stem into the juicer. Clean 2 stalks of celery, and add to the juicer as well. When it's done it fills up a small jug quite nicely. We keep them in the door of the fridge to be added to cold soups and the like. I did find this recipe burned my throat a bit when drunk as is. Fine when added to a sweet/potatoe soup broth or as a smoothie with a banana and I'm sure once my throat heals a bit more it will be great as is when I want a sweet drink.
