    *1 pounds stew meat
    *1 large onion
    *5 beef bouillon cubes
    *1-42 oz can vegetable juice
    *64 oz water
    *1-15.5 oz can diced tomatoes
    *1-6 oz can tomato paste
    *4 large carrots, chopped
    *4 parsnips, chopped
    *5 stalks celery, chopped
    *4 medium red potatoes, cut into bite size pieces
    *2 cups frozen corn
    *2 cups frozen green beans
    *1 cup barley


Sear beef to lock in flavor.

7-8 hours on low in slow cooker


simmer in stock pot until veggies are tender. Add barley about 45 minutes prior to serving.

MAKES 15, 2-cup servings.
