Ingredients

    1 1/2 cup shortening
    2 cups sugar
    2 large eggs
    1/2 cup molasses
    4 cups flour
    3 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. cloves, ground
    2 tsp. ginger, ground
    2 tsp. cinnamon, ground

Directions

Cream shortening.
Add sugar gradually and cream thoroughly.
Add unbeaten eggs and mollasses and beat until smooth.
Silft flour, soda and spices into cream mixture; mix thorougly.
Roll into 1/2 to 1 inch balls, roll in sugar and place onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 15 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
Makes 6 dozen cookies.
