    * *Applegate Farms Turkey Bacon, 3 serving
    * Onions, raw, .25 cup, chopped
    * Celery, raw, .25 cup, diced
    * *bell pepper - red (1 oz), 2 serving
    * *Eden's Black Soybeans, 2 cup
    * *Sucralose (like Splenda), 6 tsp
    * *Molasses, blackstrap, .13 tbsp
    * Heinz, One Carb Reduced Sugar Tomato Ketchup, 1 Tbsp, 3 serving
    * *Kosher Salt, 0.13 tsp
    * Pepper, black, 1 dash
    * Tabasco Sauce, 0.13 tsp


Chop up bacon, or snip it right into a saucepan with your kitchen shears. Start it cooking over medium heat. When some grease has cooked out bacon, add the onion, celery, and bell pepper. Saute the vegetables in the bacon grease until soft.

Drain the canned black soybeans [toss liquid], and dump them in with the vegetables [and bacon]. Stir in the ketchup, Splenda, molasses, salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Turn the burner to low, cover, and let the whole thing simmer for 15 minutes or so, then serve. Makes 4 servings.

Each serving: 11 grams carbohydrate and 6 grams fiber, for a usable carb count of 5 grams; 11 grams protein. (COMPARISON: Bush's brand canned Barbecue Baked Beans have 32 grams of carbohydrate in a 1/2-cup serving!)
