Introduction

Instead of making biscuit type dumplins I substitute flour tortillas. Instead of making biscuit type dumplins I substitute flour tortillas.

Ingredients

    4- 3 ounce chicken breasts
    1 cup diced celery
    8 cups water
    1 tablespoon salt
    1 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon onion powder
    12- 6 inch flour tortillas; cut into 1 inch squares
    3 tablespoons cornstarch; mixed into 4 cups of water

Directions

In a large pot, place chicken breasts, 8 cups of water, celery, garlic powder, salt, pepper and onion powder; bring to a boil. Boil until chicken is cooked through. ( I like to boil mine for at least and hour; stirring occasionaly) Some of the water will boil off. When chicken is cooked through, remove it from water and chop it up. Place chicken back in pot and bring back to a boil. Meanwhile, mix cornstarch into 4 cups of water. Once your water and chicken is boiling slowly stir in cornstarch/water mixture. Allow everything to come back to a boil. Meanwhile, cut flour tortillas into squares. When everything is boiling add flour tortillas (add a few at a time and stir so that they don't stick together.) Allow to simmer for 15- 20 minutes and serve! Makes 10 to 12 servings!
