Introduction

This is my mother's recipe. My ultimate comfort food when I am having a bad day. This is my mother's recipe. My ultimate comfort food when I am having a bad day.

Ingredients

1/2-1 Head of cabbage depends on how big the cabbage is and how much you like the flavor.
    1 16 ounce can Furman's crushed tomatoes.
    16 ounce can water
1 16 ounce bag of frozen mixed veggies, the one with corn, carrots, lima beans, and green beans.
About a pound of the leanest chuck steak you can find. (I buy the steak and cut up my own stew meat..just a small way to save some money).
1 whole onion diced or one cup depending on the size of the onion
1 cup diced green bell pepper

Directions

in a pan place a very small amount of cooking oil (I use extra virgin unrefined coconut oil) and brown your meat in a cast iron skillet if you are in a hurry. Then add to you stew pot.

The longer version is to place all ingredients in a crock pot on low overnight and then enjoy for lunch or dinner the next day.
