    -2 slices bacon (preferably wild boar), diced
    -0.5 TBS butter
    -1 onion, diced
    -1 Granny Smith apple, diced
    -1 butternut squash, roasted
    -fresh sage (including stems)
    -chicken broth
    -half and half cream


1. Roast butternut squash.
2. Sweat bacon, onion, and apple in butter.
3. Add flesh from roasted butternut squash.
4. Add sage, salt, and pepper to taste.
5. Cover veggies with chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer. Cook until veggies are tender.
6. Puree soup. Finish with half-and-half or milk.
