Number of Servings: 8


    1 pound of asparagus, chopped to desired length
    1 medium onion, chopped
    3 cloves garlic (minced) - more or less to taste
    1 tablespoon black pepper - more or less to taste
    32 ounces chicken bouilion, prepared
    1 pound chicken
    1 stick butter
    1 cup white flour
    3 cups milk (I used whole milk in calculations and in cooking)


Chop asparagus, mince garlic if using fresh, cut chicken into small pieces. Put first six ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer.

Make a roux by melting butter in a skillet, and adding flour. Blend together. Add milk slowly, blending to remove lumps as milk is added. Stir constantly until thickened. Slowly add to simmering broth mixture, stirring to combine. Allow to cook for another 30 minutes on low.
