Ingredients

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1/4 cup sugar
    4 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup butter, cut into pieces
    1/3 cup chopped pecans, toasted
    2/3 cup canned pumpkin
    1/3 cup fat-free half-and-half

Directions

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly; stir in pecans. Combine pumpkin and half-and-half; add to flour mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead 4 or 5 times. (Add more flour if dough is sticky.) Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes or until lightly browned. Yield: 20 biscuits.
