Introduction

Ingredients

1 and 1/2 cups to 2 cups dry chickpeas
1-1.5 cups chopped onions
3-5 cloves garlic
liquid smoke just a dash
curry powder about 1 T.
2.5 cups water
2.5 cups broth
2 bay leaves
salt an pepper to taste after cooking.
Directions
Cook onions and garlic in bottom of pressure cooker, Add curry powder and cook for one minute. Add liquid smoke, water, broth, and bay leaves.
Cook under high pressure for one hour.
Add salt and pepper to taste before serving
Optionally add shredded escarole to hot stew until wilted.
