    1 cup or 8 ounces water
    1/8 cup or 1 ounce soy sauce
    Brown Gravy Mix packet (to make one cup gravy)
    1.5-2lbs sirloin steak
    2 tsp paprika
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp ground black pepper
    1 tsp unseasoned meat tenderizer (for cheaper cuts)
    2 Tbsp canola or peanut oil
    1 med. onion
    1 med. green bell pepper


Mix water, soy sauce, and gravy mix - then set aside.

Slice 1.5 to 2 lbs of sirloin steak (or what you have - top round works - use meat tenderizer if using cheaper cuts) thinly and season with spices (mix seasonings & sprinkle is easiest).

Heat 2 tbsp peanut oil (takes higher temperatures without burning or breaking down) and stir fry meat. Add gravy mix, bring to a boil, and cook until the gravy begins to thicken. Remove and cool to store at this point.

Before serving:

When ready to serve, sliver one medium or two smaller onions ( cut from top to bottom, it will fall into slivers) and a medium green bell pepper (for company, using two or more colored peppers makes it more of a festive dish - green, red, orange, or yellow work well).

Stir fry vegetables in hot peanut oil while heating the steak in gravy in a seperate pan. When meat is hot and pepper & onions are done - add the peppers to the larger pan and heat together briefly - then serve over rice.
