    * Peppers, sweet, red, fresh, 5 small, chopped
    * Onions, raw, 2 small, chopped
    * Garlic, 4 cloves, chopped
    * Canola Oil, 2 1tsp
    * Vegetable Broth, 4 cup
    * Butternut Squash, 3.5 cup, cubes,
    * Jalapeno Peppers, 2 pepper, chopped
    * Smoked paprika, 1 tspn
    * Garam masala, 1 tspn
    * Black mustard seed, 1 tspn
    * Cumin seed, 1 tspn
    * Asafoetida, 1 pinch
    * Salt to taste


Heat broth, Add peppers, onions, garlic and butternut squash.
Add salt, paprika, garam masala and jalapeno peppers. Simmer till soft (about 30 mins). Let cool. Blend to a smooth puree. Return to soup pot. Heat oil in a small saucepan. Add mustard seeds. When they pop, add cumin and asafoetida. Let cumin brown a little. Add to soup and stir in. Heat soup and serve.
