    1 c 1% milk
    1 c water
    2 gala apples, peeled, cored, and cut into inch cubes (about 3 cups)
    1 c uncooked steel cut oats
    1 T Splenda brown sugar
    1 T butter softened
    t cinnamon
    t salt
    c pure maple syrup
    2 T hazelnuts, chopped and toasted
    Cooking spray


Bring milk and water to a boil in a saucepan over medium high heat, stirring frequently.

Place hot milk mixture, apples, and next 5 ingredients in crockpot coated with nonstick spray; stir well. Cover and cook on low for 7 hours or until oats are tender.

Ladle oatmeal into individual bowls, top with maple syrup and hazelnuts.

Makes 4 servings 1 c oatmeal, 1 T syrup, 1 t hazelnuts
