Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    1/2 cup Mesquite Powder (Sisip)(125ml / 58g)
    1/3 cup + 2 Tbsp Raw Cocoa Powder (105ml / 35g)
3/4 cup packed Golden Yellow Brown Sugar (175ml / 141g)
    1/2 tsp Baking Powder (2.5ml / 1.3g)
1 tsp Vanilla Extract (5ml / 4g) (or 1/2 as much vanilla bean paste)
    3 Tbsp Raw Cashew Butter (45ml / 45g)
    1/3 cup + 2 Tbsp Hemp Milk (110ml) or approx 30ml / 18g ground hemp hearts + 85ml water)

Directions

Note: Hemp milk can easily be made in the blender: Hemp seeds (hearts) with water: 1:3 ratio.

For this recipe: 3 T of hemp hearts with 1/2 cup + 1 T (9 T in total) water. This will give you 1/4 cup left over, which can be used in your next smoothie.

editors note: I came up with 30ml / 18g hemp hearts + 85ml water = about 110ml, based on your 45ml hemp hearts + 140ml water = about 170-175ml.

Note: If allergic to cashews, pumpkin seed butter also works well. Pumpkin seeds are high in iron.

Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes. It works best if you put parchment paper on the bottom of the pan. The batter is thick. Spread it with a moistened spatula. It does not have to get to the sides of the pan. If it does not touch the side of the pan, it is easier to lift out of the pan. If it is too moist, return to the oven and bake a bit longer.
