A wonderful salad - not a creamy dressing, but yummy! A wonderful salad - not a creamy dressing, but yummy!
Number of Servings: 6


    1/2 cup canola oil
    1/4 cup red wine vinegar
    2 tsp worcestershire sauce
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 dash black pepper
    8 cups romaine lettuce, torn
    3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated


Combine the oil, vinegar, worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt and pepper in a container with a tight fitting lid; shake well. Refrigerate for several hours.

In a large salad bowl, toss lettuce, cheese and croutons (optional). Shake the dressing; pour over the salad and toss to coat. Serve immediately.

To make as a main dish: add chicken or shrimp

makes 6 healthy servings or more if using as a side salad.
