    bag of dried black beans
    12 C water
    3 Q new water
    .25 C olive oil
    .25 C sherry
    .25 C sofrito
    1 tsp cumin
    2 tsp dried oregano
    1 T brown sugar
    4 packets of Goya Sazon sin annato
    Goya adobo as needed
    2 tsp white vinegar


Soak beans overnight in 12 C water. Drain and rinse. Place in dutch oven with 3 Q new water and rest of the ingredients up to adobo. Bring to boil over med high heat, then partially cover and reduce heat to simmer 1-2 hours, checking after 1 hour to test tenderness of beans. Cook until tender but not mushy. Add vinegar. Serve over rice. Make 12, 1 C servings. Low sodium versions of sazon and adobo are available.
