    3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted - do not use margarine
    1 cup sugar
    1 3/4 cup white flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp pure almond extract
    1/4 cup sliced almonds


1. Preheat oven to 325 F.
2. Mix all ingredients, reserving 1/4 of the egg.
3. Spread into a 9" pie pan, brush with reserved egg and sprinkle with almond slices.
4. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown, Cool.

Makes 12 servings.
