Introduction

Feel free to modify vegetables. Once I even semi-successfully added broccoli, pictured here. All herbs are to taste--personally, I use much more garlic than listed here.

I reduce sodium by using no salt added tomato products.

Ingredients

1 Whole Wheat Pizza Crust (with honey)
    2 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 Medium Can Petite Diced Tomatoes
    1 Small Can Tomato Paste
    1-1/2 Cups Fresh Sliced/Chopped Mushrooms
    1 Cup Mozzarella Cheese
    2 tsp Granulated Sugar
    To Taste:
    Garlic
    Basil
    Oregano
    Black Pepper
    Salt (dash)

Directions

Makes 2-4 servings.

Preheat oven to approximately 350F (follow pre-made crust instructions here)
Okay to preheat pan if a crisper crust is desired.

In a bowl, thoroughly mix diced tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, salt, pepper, and all other herbs. Set to the side.

If mushrooms are not already sliced or chopped, slice/chop to preferred size and shape. Set to the side.

Place the crust on a pizza pan. Baste the crust with a bit of olive oil. This is not necessary, but does help the crust taste a bit better.

Carefully spread sauce mixture all over the top of the crust. Try to do it fairly evenly.

Everyone is different for this--if you like cheese under veggies, do that; if you like veggies under the cheese, do that. If you are using a lot of vegetables, you will probably want them on top since there will be oodles of moisture from the sauce.
