Introduction

My standard green smoothie. Made one day when all I had on hand were frozen bananas, kale, and kiwi. I'm still surprised how good this smoothie turned out to be. My standard green smoothie. Ingredients

    I frozen banana
    3 or 4 kale leaves (inner rib removed)
    1 kiwi fruit
    1 cup filtered water

Directions

Put water and kale leaves in blender first.
Blend kale and water for a short time. I use a vitamix. I have an old model that just has a high and low setting. I use the low setting, blending for about 30-40 seconds using a cup of cold, filtered water that I keep in the fridge. This way, the kale gets blended in nicely.
Next, add the kiwi in a few pieces, and frozen banana (I usually freeze the bananas in halves, and then split each half into two pieces before dumping in the blender).
Blend for another 30-40 seconds, and your smoothie is done.
