    one small onion, chopped
    one medium carrot, chopped
    3 sticks celery, chopped
    one butternut squash, chopped
    quart vegetable or chicken broth
    salt, pepper, nutmeg to taste


Chop and sautee all veggies till brown and beginning to soften. Add broth and simmer till everything is cooked through. Use slotted spoon to remove veggies and blend till smooth. Return to broth and stir. Add salt, pepper, and some nutmeg to finish it off.
