    1 pound whole mushrooms(about 3 dozen)
    3 T butter or brummel and brown spread
    1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
    1/4 cup finely chopped onion
    1.5 cups soft bread crumbs
    1/2 t. salt
    1/2 t. thyme
    1/4 t. turmeric
    1/4 t. pepper
    1 T. butter or brummel and brown spread


Heat oven to 350. Wash, trim, dry mushrooms, removing stems...finely chop enough stems to make 1/3 cup.
Melt 3 T. butter in skillet, add mushroom stems, green pepper and onion. cook 5 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in remaining ingredients except for mushroom caps and 1 T. butter.
Melt 1 T butter in shallow baking dish. Fill caps with mixture; place mushrooms filled side up in dish, and bake 15 minutes.
Change oven to broil and/or 550, broil mushrooms for approx 2 minutes.
Makes approx 36 mushrooms.
