Number of Servings: 36


    6 cups whole wheat flour
    2 tbsp white sugar
    4 tbsp of canola oil
    1 1/2 tsp of salt
    4 1/2 tsp of yeast
    2 1/2 cups of warm water (105 degrees)


In warm water sprinkle a little sugar add yeast
Stir and let double in consistency(about 15 min)
Mix remaining ingredients then add water and yeast mixture.
Use your hands to knead in all ingredients
Mixture should be a bit sticky
Pour a little canola in you hands and rub over mixture
Place a piece of wax paper on top and cover with a tea towel
Room temperature should be at least 80 degrees
* I always have the stove preheated to 350 while in the bread making process. Let the mixture rise for about an hour (keep near the stove)
Flour the counter and empty bowl
Knead dough minimim 25 times
Cut dough in half
Prepare bread pans ( warm by the oven for a minute and add a little oil to grease the pan
Place each half of dough in pan
Place wax paper loosely on top and cover with tea towel for final rising ( about 45 mins)
Cook in preheated 350 degree oven for 20 mins
Yields 2 loaves ( 18 slices per loaf)
