    1 c. whole wheat white flour
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1 c. sweetened coconut
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. butter
    1 can nonfat sweetened condensed milk
    2 T butter
    1 T light corn syrup
    1 c. milk chocolate chips


Butter a 10 x 13" pan.

Melt 1/2 c. butter in a pan or microwave in a bowl. Mix flour, coconut, brown sugar and baking powder in a large bowl. Pour melted butter into bowl with flour mixture and mix well until blended. Press this mixture into prepared pan and bake at 350 for about 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and cool. Keep oven on at 350.

Place condensed milk, 2 T butter and corn syrup in a small sauce pan. Stir continually over medium heat until the mixture turns a medium dark amber color and begins to thicken, about 10 minutes. Pour this mixture over the cooled crust and bake for 10-15 minutes until the mixture is bubbling.

As soon as the pan is removed from the oven sprinkle the chocolate chips over and allow them to melt then spread.

Makes 28 bars.
