This chili recipe is the real thing. It has been a treasured family recipe. We like it spicy, but you can tone it down if you can't stand the heat! This chili recipe is the real thing. It has been a treasured family recipe. We like it spicy, but you can tone it down if you can't stand the heat!
Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    64 oz (4 lbs.) lean ground turkey
    2 large onions, chopped
    1 tsp garlic powder
    6 tbsp chili powder
    4 tbsp ground cumin
    0.5 tsp Himalayan Pink Salt
    1 tsp black pepper
    0.5 tsp ground cayenne (red) pepper (less if desired)
    4 cups or 4-8 oz cans tomato sauce
    6 cups water

Directions

Makes about 16 1-cup servings.

Mix spices in a small bowl and set aside: chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, cayenne.
Spray a 6 qt. pot w/Pam; brown ground turkey, garlic powder and chopped onions until onion is almost transluscent.
Drain and return meat/onions to pot at medium heat.
Add spice mixture previously set aside to meat/onion; stir until well blended.
Add tomato sauce and water; stir well.
Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer slowly about two hours, stirring occasionally.
Add a little extra water, if needed.

Note: Use 1/4 tsp cayenne or less, if you don't like it spicy.
