A hearty thick soup. A hearty thick soup.
Number of Servings: 15


    4 -5 Beef Bones
    4 quarts of water
    225 g. of Pearl barley
    8 oz. - sirloin beef visible fat removed ,chopped into small pieces
    1/2 - tsp garlic
    1 - tomato minced
    1/2 cup - shredded carrots
    1 (900ml) box of Cambell's Beef broth
    2 tbls - HP sauce
    Black pepper to taste


Gently boil beef bones with 4 Bay leaves in 4 quarts of water for 1 hour. Remove bones and leaves and discard. Let broth chill and fat with harden on surface - remove with slotted spoon.
Bring up to a boil and add remainder of ingredients. Bring to a boil stiring occasionally. Reduce heat to simmer for 20 30 min.
Adding a little water if too thick.
Will make approx. 15 cups of soup.
