    1.5 C all-purpose flour
    3 Tbs sugar
    .5 C Cocoa, unsweetened powder
    1 tsp Baking Powder
    .5 tsp Baking Soda
    1 tsp Salt
    3 large Eggs, beaten
    2 C Buttermilk at room temperature
    4 Tbsp butter, melted and cooled
    1 tsp Vanilla extract
    .75 mini chocolate chips


Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, baking soda. Whisk to blend.
In another bowl combine the eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, and butter, whisk to blend well. Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients into the dry ingredients just until incorporated. Stir in the mini chocolate chips. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes.
Fill the waffle iron batter and cook until the waffle is crisp and completely cooked. Serve immediately with fresh berries and whipped cream. Makes 10 waffles.
